Ikigai

生き甲斐, Japanese pronunciation: eekeeguy

Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means “a reason for being“; a direction or purpose in life, and a sense of meaning in life. We guide you to discover your purpose and find meaning.

Most working adults will dedicate half their waking lives to a job, or for those A-type personalities among us, way more than that. If that thought elicits a deep, internal sigh, then you’re probably not in the right job. Or it could mean you’re not doing the work you are uniquely suited for, or that your working environment is awful, and your boss is a tyrant.

Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means “a reason for being”. The word refers to having a direction or purpose in life, that which makes one’s life worthwhile, and towards which an individual takes spontaneous and willing actions giving them satisfaction and a sense of meaning in life.

To find your Ikigai, you have to understand four elements:

  • What you are good at (Purpose)
  • What you can get paid for (Profit)
  • What the world needs (Problems)
  • What you love (Passion)

This workshop is the perfect follow through from the IME workshop where we help you discover the answers to these vital questions.

“You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it courageously.”
